August 20, 2019 FHLBank Topeka Regrets to Announce the Death of Nebraska Board Member

FHLBank Topeka’s board and executive team are deeply saddened to announce that Andrew “Skip” Hove Jr., long-time board member from Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18.

Hove, 84, spent 30 years working for the Minden Exchange Bank in Minden, Nebraska, where he left as chairman and CEO. He went on to be appointed to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation by President George H. W. Bush in 1990. He was reappointed by President Bill Clinton and served as vice chairman and interim chairman. He was an FHLBank board member since 2007, serving on numerous committees.

Hove was very involved in his community, giving his time and talents to many civic boards. He also served his hometown as the mayor of Minden.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ellan. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather.

A celebration of life will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, at First Plymouth Congregational Church in Lincoln. Memorials may be made to the University of Nebraska Foundation or First Plymouth Congregational Church. Condolences may be left online at roperandsons.com.
